| 1st M.2 SSD Drive |
An M.2 is a type of storage drive that's super small, very fast, and plugs directly into the motherboard. It's used for SSDs (Solid State Drives), which are a type of storage that's much quicker than older hard drives, making your computer start up faster and programs load in seconds.
Key Features:
- Slim and compact: The M.2 drive is about the size of a stick of gum, making it much smaller than traditional hard drives or even older SSDs.
- Super fast: Because it connects directly to the motherboard, an M.2 drive can access data much faster than a traditional drive. This makes it ideal for high-performance computers.
- PCIe and SATA options: Some M.2 drives use the PCIe connection, which is ultra-fast, while others use SATA, which is still fast but not quite as quick as PCIe.
The storage you need in your system depends on your useage:
- For light use (OS, apps, light gaming): 250GB to 500GB.
- For moderate use (larger apps, more games, or content creation): 1TB to 2TB.
- For heavy use (large file storage, high-end gaming, or professional content creation): 2TB and above.
